Hawaiian rulers. Six miles long with vertical walls extending up to 2,000
vertical feet tall and one mile wide where the river meets the ocean at a
black sand beach.
Hike, horseback, or drive down (25% grade) it is a breathtaking view all the way. Take my arm chair tour, click here

Rainbow Falls and Boiling Pots on Wailuku River
Defining the western border of downtown Hilo the 18 mile long Wailuku
River is the longest in Hawaii. Roaring water falls 80 feet into a 100 foot diameter pool. When the cascade hits the pool it sends up a mist throwing
up a prism of rainbows. Two miles upstream
is the Boiling Pots, the river
churns through a succession of "pots" resembling a steaming Jacuzzi.
